I’m a sucker for smocking in the summer—it’s just so feminine and easy. But most brands don’t get the fit right and it ends up pulling in all the wrong places. Hill House really figured it out. Their smocked tops are soft, stretchy, and flattering without feeling tight or stiff.

For reference, I’m small-chested and this top fits true to size. I was worried it might be too cropped, but it’s the perfect length—just a little peek of midriff but nothing that feels inappropriate. I’m usually with my kids or family, so I wanted something cute but still covered.

And the fabric? So good. I live in Texas and can’t deal with sticky, synthetic tops in the heat—this one feels breathable and light, not like that polyester cling (CANNOT do anything but cotton in Summer in Texas!) I got the Apple Green Stripe with the matching skirt so I’ll have a few outfits to build now.
